Nobody offered to host a new round of trivia so I guess as Chief Mod and Grand Inquisitor of the community I am bound by honor and an unwritten contract to come up with something new.  So rest assured children of the 80's - I am working on something and I will be posting it soon!

Give a cheer or a shout if you are ready to game on once again!

Much thanks to ethereal_dusk fopr the last game. I think I speak for us all when I say that some of those questions were really difficult! I mean, I even missed a few, so well done.

With that said, is anyone up to putting on a game? I am working on one, but just don't have the time to stay on top it it and keep score at the moment.

If anyone has some ideas, and just wants to throw them out here, maybe someone can run with the idea and put on the game. Let's keep this community alive folks...

Thinking back to how I have been in regards to correct spellings of names in the past-- I am going to have to go with my initial feeling on this, and declare that

Gothicness

has won the game by 3 points! Congratulations and a job well done! Avion and Gothicness were neck-n-neck pretty much the whole way. Gothicness spelled Nik Wade's name correctly, without the use of a "c" in it.

Excellent job to both of you. One question, though, to the one who answered $2222 for the math bonus question-- how did you arrive at that (correct) answer? Just be honest *wink wink*. I'm just curious.

Thanks for letting me run a couple of games McBarnes, it was fun.

Thanks for playing everyone! Time to let someone else give it a go since my mind is just drawing a blank on questions anymore. Everyone did very well, but let's take it down to our two tied players. Avion and Gothicness, both tied at 89 points.

1. I asked what was the name of this sexy bunch of people? (Slightly giving a hint to their name)
--Avion, you answered Alien Sex Fiend.
--Gothicness, you answered Alien Sex Fiend.
You are both tied at 92 points apiece.

2. I asked what year did they release their first single?
--Avion, you answered 1983.
--Gothicness, you answered 1983.
You are both tied at 95 points.

3. I asked what was the singer's real name?
--Avion, you answered * Wade
--Gothicness, you answered * Wade.
--I am at an empasse now. One of you mispelled his name. You are both completely tied accept for a mispelling. How to go about dealing with this?

4. I asked what fruit they had a strange fetish for on stage? (and gave a hint embedded in question number 1)
--Avion, you answered bananas.
--Gothicness, you answered bananas.
You are both tied at 98 points.

Tie-buster. I asked "Every month, a girl gets allowance. Assume last year she had no money, and kept it up to now. Then she spends 1/2 of her money on clothes, then 1/3 of the remaining money on games, and then 1/4 of the remaining money on toys. After she bought all of that, she had $7777 left. Assuming she only gets money by allowance, how much money does she earn every month?"

This question will be examined after the result of the poll. I am presenting this poll to the members of this community, because this has been a long, hard game of trivia, and I can be known to be quite trivial. The answer to question three will/can tell us who our winner is, before we even get to question 4 or the math question. My question is simple: am I being too trivial if I decide a very long game over the mispelling of a guy's first name? Please vote, I appreciate your input. I know it is just a trivia game, but it is also all about bragging rights! :) I know that I would like a vote to be taken if I was one of the players, but that is just me and the way I am. Trying to be fair without being too anal about it all. Thanks for understanding.

Poll #966790 Spelling errors.

The last question was hard, but not impossible. A few people got it. It was Carl McCoy of Fields of the Nephilim, their first album was "Dawnrazor." What they had in common with Pink Floyd was the producer Andy Jackson. Here is the last round for me, because I am simply tapped for questions.

Poll #960741 Game 2 Round 10 Dark Side of the 80's (Last round for me)

Who is this sexy bunch of people? 3 pts

What year did they release their first single? 3 pts

What is the lead singer's real name? 3 pts

What fruit do they have a strange fetish for on stage? 3 pts

In case of a tie between the top 2 players, answer this question for the tie-breaker. Every month, a girl gets allowance. Assume last year she had no money, and kept it up to now. Then she spends 1/2 of her money on clothes, then 1/3 of the remaining money on games, and then 1/4 of the remaining money on toys. After she bought all of that, she had $7777 left. Assuming she only gets money by allowance, how much money does she earn every month?

Once again, I apologize for being away for a month. It is just that I am working 2 jobs, 7 days a week and well... my brain is fried. LOL Okay, the answers to the last quiz question. 1) Grace Jones all the way. 2) That is, yes, the movie "Vamp". Delicious. 3) Released in 1986. 4) You all are a silly bunch. I like that. Anyone who has ever even read my profile answered that one dead on. Only one person said "no"! Eh? ;) The answer, of course, is YES. Strangely enough, I received two almost identical answers, which, well, befuddles me. I would like to post some of the answers to question 4, because they were amusing.

-- She's not perfect but she's perfect for you ?? (Yes.)
-- Yes? I loved her. Didn't everyone? (Yes.)
-- yep (Exactuuly.)
-- yes? (No question about it.)
-- possibly (Nice safe answer.)
-- yes (Period.)
-- No. (Ah oopsy. Maybe you should have phrased it as a question.)
-- Beats me. But I'm guessing yes, you sick man! LOL (I don't know how to reply to this....)
-- She's not perfect, but she's perfect for you (Deja vu?)
-- Hell yeah! She's my kind of girl! (Mine too! RAWK!)
-- of course! (Affirmative.)
-- Sure! (You know it.)

Aight, on to Round 8. This could make you or break you. This is one of my favorite 80's U.K. bands. 'Nuff said.

Sorry, I've been busy. Damn adult life interferring with my fantasy world. Where do I lodge my complaint? Anyway, that person was Jim Bakker. Yes, he actually took on his wife's name when they got married (he was born James Orsen). He was convicted of fraud and is now out of prison. And yes, that is one gawd-awful toupee people. Here is the new round, gather up!

Hint... are zebras white on black or black on white?

Has the curse of the missing game hosts prevailed again?!  Let me know if anyone is interested in hosting a new game...  And I'll pray that you survive the curse.

Okay, vacation's over. Hope you all had good holidays if you celebrated them. I got me a very nice 19" Flatscreen LCD from my parents and I bought myself a new Ford Explorer. Hey, talk about some trivia-- I still have the truck I learned to drive on back in 1987... yep, it's all kinds of ugly now and has 235,000 miles on it, so I thought it was time for something new. Don't get me wrong, it's a Toyota and it still runs and all, I just wanted something with a stereo. LOL Long story. I hope you all had a wonderful time.

So, the answers to the last trivia question. Ted Bundy, a complete lady-killer. Pun fully intended. Yes, he killed women, raped them (in that order) and performed necrophilia until the corpse was unusable. Just one sick *edited*. And as one person mentioned, he was a Republican. :) He confessed to 30 murders, although I also read 38 a few places (I wish the intrawebs would get all of the stories together here)... so I accepted the numbers between 28-38. Will we ever know how many he really killed? No. There has been speculation that it may have actually been in the 100+ range, which he could have easily gotten away with. "This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs." Strange, that looks like a few eggs in a frying pan to me... (80's reference for the lost people). "This is Ted's brain. This is Ted's brain on about 2000v in 1989 while sittin' in Old Sparky." He got off quite easily, if you ask me. Nevermind, I won't bring politics into this. :) I am one who believes that the punishment should fit the crime. Oops, hush. Here we go with Round 7!

Poll #903334 Game 2 Round 7 The Dark Side of the 80's

Who is the Mr. Roger's wannabe? (3 pts)

Where in the name of God did he get his last name? (3 pts)

Is that a God-awful toupee or not a toupee? (3 pts)

Doesn't he look a bit like Pavel Chekov in this photo?

The answer to question 1 was "a 45rpm single". I accepted record, 7", vinyl, single, etc. That was of course the lovely Siouxie and The Banshees, and the single was released in 1980. Round 6 is going to be a bit different.

For #1, give me his name in whole or part.
For #2, give me your most colorful, politically correct, politically incorrect, scientific, entertaining, or original answer. If you know who he is, you'll know how to answer this one. :) If I am amused, I may post a few of the answers, sans names. Max length is 200 characters.
For #3, notice the word "about".
For #4, there isn't much we can do to play with this one. LOL
